Kong go beep blop pop
I am hylide of reasonexperts
Today I decided to go nuts on the slice trig mode of Kong the drum designer. While making this setup I came up with the idea to go more towards a glitch setup.
These are the two combies made in this video. I have only changed the way that the gate is handled in this context. So it should be a bit easier to 'press play' and let it rip
This is the kong setup:

    Having been a Reason user since Reason 5, always updating with perpetual licences, I have watched the reviews of R13 and I'm not going to bother with it. To hear Ryan and Mattias on the live stream launch, saying that the glitches would need to be worked on. I thought why have Reason Studios released an unfinished program?

  • @MrPriceTigerStyle
    @MrPriceTigerStyle 5 днів тому

    The windowed file requester is a show stopper for me. Or, not the inclusion of it, I couldn't care less about that, but the removal of the file lister... It was not compatible with my workflow before they removed the old one, it was in fact one of my bigger ui issues with Reason back then, and it's really not compatible with my workflow now that we've got versions with something that works for me (and works like all my other creative tools). Come to think of it, I don't like floating windows in general, it's a large part of why I hardly ever use VSTs also.

  • @juicerox

    I actually think this is the best upgrade in a long time. The small tweaks to the sequencer and edit window make working so much quicker. The new browser takes a bit to get used to but having worked on the Beta I got into a good workflow and now im actually liking it more. Mattias said they've received a lot of feedback on the device presets in the browser and they're working on a solution.

    I'm sitting here scratching my head trying to come up with a good reason why they removed the favorites lists, but I'm only coming up with bad ones. It's either greed, where this is some lame attempt to get people to use/buy REs more. Could also be an unintentional omission because they forgot about it/didn't care/general incompetence. Or is it an intentional omission because they are detached from their userbase enough that they never expected people were using their product in a different way than they probably are. None of this would be an issue if they just kept the feature as it is in R12. Hell people would try and deal with it even if they replaced it with a worse version. Instead, it is now not only completely gone, but if you're someone who doesn't have any use for REs and a tag system to look for patches, this new browser is a straight downgrade across the board and a workflow killer as far as I'm concerned.

    • @reasonexperts

    Really wanted screen reader support, V13, like V12 is a step backward for screen reader users. In V12 the only way to get access to the browser is via OCR and in V13, even using OCR is made harder, by needing to use object nav to get focus out of the text box before using OCR. Also would of be nice to see a little work on updating Remote, perhaps in a later update.

      so there is midi... and the combinator 2 already included this midi problem. I think you are aware of this right? Since well... the newly assigned rotaries you design don't respond. So how did you solve this in your solution bit? Midi isn't unlimited, so you are going to solve this with midi2? No you are not, because midi2 is still based on boundries. So how you solve those? You want a midi controller with 54986549085490548690546 rotaries? where every rotary has a value from 0 to 349058349058903439480589430583405839045890345890435894305890345809408593480934580945890345098349053489504385904378590345789345786943578934985374

      @@reasonexperts My concept is nothing about midi protocoll, just the idea where and how combinator in combinator will possible visually. the combinators remains instruments separately: depends on which one is selected. The top combinator can save all of the added instruments data (including the other combinators). Not a big deal to make a combinator as an instrument because all of the syntss and effects doing it the same. The difference will Maybe with the upper combinator saving methods because than can save more than one comb files simultenously. Just need a programmer there...nothing to do with the midi protocoll because this is the daw "own" instruments area i think. Your idea is nice when the buttons and sliders can handle more than one billionare numbers : i want it too because of the precisity. i dont know why the daw built in an old midi protocoll. Maybe the 128 more than enough for everybody. I liked the old eq back then but why they want to tell you which frequency adding is possible and which one not? Because of these limitations: your ears also remain limited...this is the "problem" and the source of these idea. Sometimes limitatiions can help us, but if we would like to grow and lern something new: the analog style of the Life the best way to do that.

I am glad i dont use those anymore, I am using good sound synths, analog and not, and the difference in sound is massive. You got good ones and modern ones there though, but if you want a good analog sound try the arturia mini v4. I dont get why you rejecting the best synth of all, Massive X, give it a chance, it is the best sound of all soft synths out there.

      @@reasonexperts I got that, but just saying you should use them, then get rid of the lot, you got too much going on there, too many synths. You will be more creative when you lack of tools to make music.

      I had a blast yesterday. The sequencer is something to get used to. But works fine as it is. The new combi (R12) is great 👍
